Leo Laucher-Linares, author of Do It Self Guided

Hi, my name is Leo and I'm the creator of this website. After travelling through Central and South America for 15 months, I came home with 20+ disorganised Word documents full of travel notes, hiking routes, costs and tips that I had written for people I met along the way.

Shortly after getting back to Melbourne, I decided to clean them up, put them online, and the end result is the website you're looking at now. What you'll find on Do It Self Guided is practical, first-hand travel guides for planning hikes and adventures yourself (or, in some cases, when doing a tour is the better option). As I keep travelling, I'll continue adding the same style of useful guides for every country I visit.
